German for "selected grapes." This is the next step beyond Auslese in the QmP (Qualitätswein mit Prädikat) scale of Germany. The grapes for these wines have been individually selected and include only grapes which have been affected with botrytis which leads to a very sweet wine with good aging potential. These are very rich, sweet dessert wines.
